ACADEMICS
PRE-K TO K1
Early Years at Finnway
The first school in Thailand to offer a high-quality Finnish curriculum.
Our Early Years campus is where Finnway’s journey began, originally founded as Rainbow Trout International Kindergarten in April 2018. Nestled within the Boat Lagoon Resort, it offers a calm and nurturing environment close to the marina. We rebranded to Finnway International School Phuket in August 2022
Our programme follows the Finnish Early Childhood Education and Care curriculum, where play, wellbeing and exploration lay the foundation for confident, capable learners. Students aged 2 to 4.
Kindergarten 2
Kindergarten 2 at Finnway
Our Kindergarten 2 programme builds on the strong foundations of Early Years, supporting children as they grow in confidence, independence and curiosity. Students aged 4 to 5
Following the Finnish Early Childhood Education and Care curriculum, learning is guided through play, exploration and meaningful experiences, with increasing opportunities for children to develop early literacy, numeracy and social skills within a safe and nurturing environment.
K3 (Year 1)
Kindergarten 3 (Year1) at Finnway
Kindergarten 3 is the final stage of Early Years, where children are supported in becoming confident, independent learners ready for the transition to Primary. For students aged 5 to 6
Following the Finnish Pre-primary curriculum, the programme places a stronger emphasis on early literacy, numeracy and learning skills, while continuing to value play, exploration and wellbeing within a structured and supportive environment.
“Teaching children is an accomplishment; Getting children excited about learning is an achievement.” – Robert John Meehan
PRIMARY
Primary at Finnway (G1/Y2 – G6/Y7)
Our Primary programme is based on the Finnish National Core Curriculum for Basic Education, adapted to our international context.
Learning is delivered through integrated thematic units, with a strong focus on literacy, numeracy and real-world skill development.
Students are supported to think critically, work collaboratively and take increasing responsibility for their learning within a structured and nurturing environment that supports wellbeing, independence and meaningful learning. Students aged 6 to 12.

Lower Secondary at Finnway (G7/Y8 Opening August 2026)
Finnway Lower Secondary is the next step in our planned school pathway. We are in the process of applying to become a Cambridge International School, with the intention of delivering the Cambridge Lower Secondary programme.
This development reflects our commitment to providing a structured and recognised academic pathway, supporting students as they progress from Primary into Secondary, while maintaining Finnway’s strong focus on wellbeing, personalised learning and a caring school environment.
