Finnway International School takes pride in fostering creativity and self-expression through our vibrant Arts Programme offered as part of the After-School Programme for Term 3. Our diverse range of non-academic clubs, including the Arts Club, Dance Club, Guitar Club, Ukulele Club, Drama Club, Storytelling Club, Jewellery Making Club, and Graphic Design Club, provides students with a platform to explore and enhance their artistic talents. These clubs are carefully curated to encourage creativity, boost confidence in public appearances, and strike a balance between developing their creative minds and refining motor skills. Creative Expression

Ideas, opinions, and feelings are shared in many ways. at beyond books, we aim to train kindergarten students to explore their thoughts and feelings and learn to express themselves in creative ways helping them to shape the world with their vibrant imaginations. Through thought-provoking, fun, and engaging activities, students will learn to become more self-aware and self-confident and begin to appreciate the connections made between themselves and the world around them. this creative expression course is a combination of public speaking, critical thinking, and self-expression through verbal and non-verbal communication. Creativity is an essential part of the experience of being human. all of us have the potential to be creative in what we do. creativity and expression help us to let go of our fears, rise to challenges, see new opportunities, and explore different possibilities.
The creative expression course allows students to work with different activities, materials, and manipulatives to learn the fundamentals of public speaking, to think critically and become better storytellers through creative thinking and effective communication. students will be trained to try new things, explore different topics and interests, have a curious mindset and be open to trying new challenges.

Little Storytellers

Stories create magic and a sense of wonder at the world. Stories teach us about life, about ourselves and about others. Storytelling is a unique way for kids to develop an understanding, respect and appreciation for other cultures while widening their imagination.
Students will have hands-on practice creating stories through worksheets, simple sentences, drawing, magnetic boards, stickers, stamps, puppets and other manipulatives as they explore different fundamentals and types of storytelling as they build their confidence and sharing.
In each class, students will work on telling a story using manipulatives focused on themes. Students will use the storytelling fundamentals focused on for each class to present their stories. These stories and their projects (puppets, story settings using manipulatives, sentences and drawings) will be showcased through a digital portfolio.

Art Club

Afterschool Art club for Finnway Kindergarten students provide a vibrant and enriching environment where young minds can explore their creativity, express themselves, and develop essential skills through various artistic activities. Children will get to experience themed simple art projects in a smaller group setting, helping them improve their gross motor skills in drawing, colouring, painting and sculpturing.

The ukulele’s compact size and soft nylon strings make it accessible and comfortable for little hands, enhancing fine motor skills and co-ordination. Beyond the physical benefits, playing the ukulele introduces basic musical concepts, fostering a love for rhythm, melody and harmony. Graphic Design

Graphic Design is found everywhere. From logos and fonts on stores, to billboards we drive past, the invitation cards we receive or our favourite phone wallpaper, our world as we know it is heavily impacted by design. Essentially, graphic design is just visual communication. It is how we speak to others and get messages across without having to say much. It is a life skill that is important, especially in this day and age, in every career path. This Beyond Books course will give students the chance to learn how to make visual designs on Canva through fun and hands-on activities as they put together their own Digital Portfolios to showcase.
In each class, students will learn a short lesson on graphic design fundamentals and will have hands-on practice on different styles and techniques of graphic design. Students will learn the necessary skills through Canva. Parents will receive pictures of student work.
