A new chapter has begun at Finnway International School Phuket as we welcome our first Grade 7 students and officially begin the next stage of our Lower Secondary journey.
There is a special kind of energy in a classroom when students feel comfortable, curious and genuinely connected to their learning. In our first week of Grade 7, we have already seen that energy taking shape as students share ideas, ask questions, work together and begin to find their feet in this new stage of school life.
For Finnway, the introduction of Grade 7 is about much more than adding another year level. It is a natural continuation of the learning journey we have been building with our students and families, giving students the opportunity to progress into Lower Secondary within the supportive learning culture that defines Finnway.
As learning becomes more complex, our Grade 7 students are being encouraged to think more deeply, take greater responsibility for their learning and engage confidently with new ideas. At the same time, the strong relationships, wellbeing and sense of belonging that have always been central to the Finnway experience remain just as important.

This year also marks an important step in Finnway’s academic development as our Grade 7 students begin learning through Cambridge Lower Secondary, alongside the Finnish educational foundations and values that continue to shape learning across our school.
It is only the beginning, but the first week has already given us a glimpse of what we hoped this next stage would feel like: purposeful, engaging and genuinely connected.

We are proud to welcome our first Grade 7 students and look forward to seeing where this new chapter takes them.
Welcome to Lower Secondary at Finnway.
