We are excited to share with you what the students of Grade 3 have been learning in their Art class. The students had the opportunity to learn about the environmental artist Andy Goldsworthy and his incredible work.
Environmental artists, like Goldsworthy, aim to spread the message that nature is not only beautiful but also incredibly important to our lives as human beings. These artists create works of art using natural materials, such as stones, sand, leaves, flowers, feathers, and even dung. Their art serves as a reminder to appreciate and protect our natural surroundings.
During the lesson, the children had the opportunity to study some of Goldsworthy’s works and learn about his process. They then had the chance to extend their learning on “Environmental Art” by using natural materials to create their own imaginative and artistic works.
Watching the children work with such enthusiasm and creativity was truly inspiring. They were fully engaged in the activity and it was evident that they enjoyed working with the natural materials. It was wonderful to see their ideas come to life as they created their own unique pieces of art.
We believe that this lesson was not only a valuable learning experience for the children, but it also taught them the importance of taking care of the environment around us. We hope that they will continue to appreciate and protect nature as they grow older.
